Founded in 1993, Pocatello Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute began treating patients with an emphasis on general orthopaedic care. The practice soon grew to include the addition of Dr. Richard a Wathne, in 1995, and Dr. Benjamin Blair, in 1996. The addition of these surgeons allowed the practice to expand its focus to include sports medicine and surgery of the shoulder, as well as treatment and surgery of the neck and spine. Beginning June 1st, 2005, Pocatello Orthopaedics will welcome S. Jeffrey Bray, DPM. The addition of Dr. Bray allows Pocatello Orthopaedics to offer podiatric care to the community. Combined, the board certified physicians at Pocatello Orthopaedics enjoy more than 25 years of medical/surgical experience.
Our Athletic Trainer, Leslie McGovern, assists with the High School sports programs at Aberdeen, American Falls, Grace, Marsh Valley and Soda Springs. August through November, a bumps and bruises clinic is held Saturdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. This clinic provides athletes with free evaluations of any sports injury. This clinic is also staffed by Physical Therapists and Physician Assistants.
